Hi there:
So, I'm in the process of having an audiobook made for “The Interview: Law Firm Erotica Book I.” It's the first time I've had an audiobook produced of my work. I'm finding the entire process fascinating.
I'm learning so much so fast about the publishing world as I go that it's crazy. I didn't even know they made audiobooks of short stories or audiobooks that were less than an hour long. Hell, it wasn't until just before I published “The Interview: Law Firm Erotica Book I” that I learned there was a whole category for erotic shorts on Amazon and other sites.
I started out by registering on ACX.com and putting up a script (a portion of the book) for auditions. In the process, I filled out a short online form about what type of voice actor I would like (i.e. male of female), what type of voice I would like for the narration (i.e. adult, sultry, versatile), and how much of a budget I had for the project. Then, I waited for voice actresses to send me audition files.
It was really amazing to listen to the audition recordings and hear my words come to life. I've got to say that I got really lucky on this project. One of the first actresses who auditioned seems perfect for the part. Even Sir, who insists that I should narrate the story myself because he likes my voice and thinks its sexy, said the piece was hot. So I hired her.
Wish me luck that the project goes smoothly and the actress turns out to be as great as I think she is. If it works out, I'm going to want to have her do the entire series. Don't you just love when there is a good synergy between the author and the voice actress on a series of audiobooks? I know I do.
I'll let you know when the audiobook is available for sale. It will be available on Amazon, Audible and iTunes.
Ciao
